The Department of Dermatology currently has 3 full time attendings along with 9 Dermatology residents. We are interested in growing our faculty, with goal of recruiting a fellowship trained Mohs surgeon, a Pediatric dermatologist and a general dermatologist within the next 2-3 years. Clinical practice activities of the Department include:

  • Outpatient clinic and inpatient consultation services at our affiliated hospital, University Medical Center.
  • Outpatient clinics at our outpatient VA medical clinic.

The Department has an active surgical practice, with over 700 cases of Mohs surgery performed yearly.  The Department operates an active Dermatopathology Laboratory with approximately 10,000 specimens per year.

The new faculty member would practice in a stimulating environment. Texas Tech University pays a highly competitive salary structured in a base salary plus productivity format. Lubbock has a population of 260,000, with a student population of 31,000 and the usual amenities of a university town. The climate, pleasant year-round is moderately dry due to the city’s 3200-foot elevation on the plains of Texas. There are 260 days of sunshine per year. With affordable housing, excellent public and private schools, a low crime rate, and insignificant traffic, Lubbock is an excellent place to live and work.
