About the Position/Department

The UTMB Department of Dermatology, the first Department of Dermatology in the state of Texas, seeks a new Chair to help move our highly diverse and respected team in the Houston/Galveston area to the next level. To reach our full potential, we need a collaborative leader who is both an outstanding academe and clinician with the drive and vision to expand the practice, build market presence and increase access to care, including a long-term goal of fostering the research mission.  The Department of Dermatology has a long history of excellence in patient care, in the training of residents and fellows as well as the training of medical school and allied health students. The department has 11 faculty, 12 residents and 2 fellows. The Chair for this Department is responsible for the quality of the educational, scientific and clinical programs within the department. This oversight includes the appropriate and optimal use of human, financial, space and other resources to successfully manage the clinical, educational and research missions of the department.

Income Package: A negotiable income package is offered based upon level of Academic experience. Superior benefits and retirement program along with relocation and other incentives are also provided.

Position Requirements

MD or DO degree, eight to ten years of related experience, demonstrated familiarity with academic administration in a specialty field, demonstrative comprehensive understanding of a medical school/hospital environment, board certification and the ability to obtain a Texas state medical board license.
